FAQs

How is ADHD coaching different from therapy?

1

While therapy often focuses on healing past trauma, emotional processing, and "the why" behind behaviors, ADHD coaching is forward-looking and action-oriented. It focuses on "the how." A coach helps you build systems, manage time, and improve executive functions to reach specific life or career goals.

Can a coach help me if I’m not on medication?

2

Yes. Coaching is a non-pharmacological intervention that focuses on behavioral strategies and environmental design. Whether you choose to use medication or not, coaching provides the structural tools—like external cues and routine building—needed to manage ADHD symptoms effectively.

What does a typical session look like?

3

Most sessions follow a structured flow to prevent the conversation from wandering (a common ADHD challenge):

Review: Assessing what worked and what didn't since the last session.

Goal Setting: Identifying one specific challenge to tackle today.

Strategy Building: Brainstorming and "body-doubling" through a plan.

Accountability: Setting a clear, manageable "home mission" for the week.

How long does it take to see results?

4

Because coaching focuses on immediate behavioral changes, many clients feel a sense of relief after the first session. However, building lasting habits and rewiring your approach to productivity typically takes 3 to 6 months of consistent work. The goal is to eventually "graduate" from coaching with a toolkit you can use independently.
